
Dr. Hanson, originally from Idaho, completed post graduate work in immunobiology at the University of New Mexico. She then attended The George Washington University School of Medicine receiving her medical degree in 1983. During medical school, Dr. Hanson served as a research fellow at the National Cancer Institute contributing to leukemia and AIDS research. She completed an internship in internal medicine at Washington Hospital Center followed by a residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in body imaging CT, MRI and ultrasound at The George Washington University Medical Center. Dr. Hanson joined WRA in 1988 and also is an associate clinical professor of radiology at The George Washington University School of Medicine. She has published medical and scientific articles and lectures locally to physicians, medical students and women's groups. Dr. Hanson is the Physician Administrator of the Sterling office.
