Ahalya Premkumar, MD

Ahalya Premkumar, MD Dr. Ahalya Premkumar received her medical degree from Bombay University and residency training in diagnostic radiology from St. Luke's Roosevelt Medical Center in New York, New York (chief resident 1981-1982). She completed a fellowship in abdominal imaging at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in 1983, and thereafter joined the staff of Columbia University in New York, NY. In 1987, she was appointed Director of Ultrasound. Prior to joining WRA, Dr. Premkumar was a radiologist at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD where she also served as chief of the general radiology section of the Diagnostic Radiology Department. Dr. Premkumar has authored or co-authored numerous research-based manuscripts on ultrasound and MRI. Dr. Premkumar joined the practice in August 2007.
