Doreen MartinCenter Director - Fairfax and Arlington/Ballston
Doreen worked with several private general practitioner offices before joining the full-time staff of Columbia Hospital for Women (CHW) in Washington DC in 1977. She served for two years as CHW Unit Manager in the Post Partum Department.
In 1979 she was recruited for a new office being opened by Washington Radiology's sister company at the time, Washington Ultrasound Associates (WUA) located in Washington DC. With the expansion of WUA into the suburbs in 1982, Doreen was promoted to Office Manager of the first Fairfax clinical office that offered ultrasound, xeromammography and general X-ray.
With the opening of the Bethesda office of WUA in 1985, she was promoted to Manager of the Fairfax, Bethesda and DC locations of Washington Ultrasound. In 1985, WUA was the first facility in the DC area to offer screening mammography. The services expanded to offer dedicated breast ultrasound and stereotatic biopsy.
In 1987, Washington Radiology and WUA merged and Doreen became Manager of the Washington Radiology Fairfax office. Since then, the Fairfax office has expanded several times to its current size, adding DEXA, MRI and 3D Tomosynthesis biopsy services.
Doreen has been married to her wonderful husband, Harry, since 1996. They are both avid Washington Redskins fans and weekend beach bums.
