Be Your Own Health Advocate
This Women’s Health Month, be your own health advocate. One place to start is by staying current on important health screenings – like your annual mammogram.
“It is very important that women continue to get their screening mammograms annually; not every two years, not every three years, it needs to be annual.” - Dr. Islamiat Ego-Osuala, Fellowship Trained Breast Imaging Radiologist, Washington Radiologist
Women of average risk should begin annual screenings at age 40. Women with a higher risk for breast cancer may begin screening at an earlier age as advised by your doctor.
Being your own health advocate means being an active participant in your own care. Start today by scheduling your mammogram.
